According to the UK web site of Roadrunner Records, MACHINE HEAD's forthcoming Supercharger CD is currently set for a September 24th European release. As previously reported, MACHINE HEAD and producer Colin Richardson are due to being mixing the album on Thursday, June 14th at Cam-Am Studios in Tarzana, California.

Former MOTLEY CRUE drummer and METHODS OF MAYHEM frontman Tommy Lee has posted the following update on the progress of MOM's upcoming second album, which is currently being recorded at a California studio: 'Hey Peeps!!! In related news, Tommy made made his first guest appearance in a music video this weekend when he dropped onto the set of JOYDROP's video shoot. The shoot, which was held on a soundstage in Hollywood on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th, was for the song, 'Sometimes Wanna Die', from JOYDROP's forthcoming GGGarth-produced album Viberate, which is due to emerge on July 17th via Tommy Boy Records. In the futuristic video, directed by Scott Winig, Lee plays the love interest of singer Tara Slone in which they act out the various emotions talked about in the song, including lust and anger. Lee and the band were reportedly introduced through their managers.
Florida's NEUROTICA, featuring former ATHEIST frontman Kelly Shaefer, have confirmed that their as-yet-untitled Smackdown Records (WWF) debut will be mixed by none other than the Grammy-nominated producer/mix engineer Kevin Shirley (AEROSMITH, BLACK CROWES, SILVERCHAIR, IRON MAIDEN, H.I.M.) at the Hit Factory in New York City starting Monday, June 18th. NEUROTICA's third full-length effort is tentatively due to be released in September. In the meantime, the band can be seen in the July issue if Raw magazine, where there is a 'huge spread' on the group.
Due to an 'overwhelming crowd response' at the festival's first show in Tinley Park, Illinois on Friday, June 8th, DISTURBED have been moved from the headlining slot on the second stage to a slot on the main stage, sandwiched between CRAZY TOWN and LINKIN PARK. The change took effect Saturday, June 9th at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin.
More STRATOVARIUS chart news… The Finnish neo-classical metallers have entered the German charts at #73 and the Swiss charts at #85 with their latest release, a collection of 'greatest hits' (plus four new tracks) entitled Intermission.
Norway's ARK, who feature in their ranks former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN vocalist Jorn Lande, ex-CONCEPTION guitarist Tore Østby, and former MALMSTEEN drummer John Macaluso, were originally due to release their latest effort, Burn The Sun, in the USA through Sensory/Laser's Edge Records later this month, but the band now appear to be on their way to inking a deal with none other than Steve Vai's Favored Nations label. Owner of Sensory Records, Ken Golden, recently issued the following statement on the matter:

'Some news regarding [ARK]'s brilliant second album Burn The Sun: We had previously announced the North American release for Sensory. Shortly afterwards the band was approached by Steve Vai's Favored Nations label who was interested in releasing the album.

'Although contractually bound to Sensory, the band expressed their desire to sign with Favored Nations. We have nothing but a friendly, positive relationship with the band and we agreed that Favored Nations would be able to provide ARK with the tour support they badly wanted. A deal is being worked out that will free up the band to sign with Favored Nations.

Drummer Brooks Wackerman has joined BAD RELIGION. This latest move presumably puts an end to his long-running collaboration with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, whom the skinsman was said to have recently rejoined after leaving the group earlier in the year.
